Koldo Royo, who is well known all round the country and also Europe for being one of the best Spanish chefs, owns and personally manages this restaurant called after himself.
Located in Palma's Paseo Maritimo, the way by the sea, the Koldo Royo restaurant is made of two separate areas, one for the bistro and one for the restaurant itself.
The bistro is set up on the ground floor and serves quality dishes for those looking for something good but quick, or less formal, to eat. Decoration is simply and friendly, inviting to seat and enjoy a friendly meal at reasonable rates (reasonable, but do not forget where you are).
On the upper floor is where the restaurant itself is located. Classic would be the perfect word which defines this restaurant: white covers, abstract food pictures on the walls and soft lights. Book a table by the window if you can 8but do it with time), and enjoy looking to the harbour while you eat.
The A la Carte menu comprises a mix of Mediterranean and modern cuisine mixing the most traditional spanish dishes, so do not be surprised to found the "White beans with clams soup" just next to the "Oysters salad with frozen sea water". Our suggestion: go for the set menu, which is made of 5 dishes and then be ready to sit there for a while.
The service good, but maybe too serious in some ways: you will be called "Sir" no matter what you do.
Summarizing: worth a visit if you really like eating out.
