Caballito de Mar

Caballito de Mar is situated in the crowdy restaurant area of La Lonja, a part of Palma's old town now home to many different kind of restaurants, from international and modern cuisine to typical.

Caballito de Mar has recently undergone a facelift and is know managed by Guillermo, who also worked at restaurants as the Chopin and has given the place a new style. Now, it has passed from being one of these old typical spanish restaurants to satisfy the most demanding but keeping the spanish cuisine .

There is an ample terrace on the square where to contemplate the lively Palma's live and surrounde by the palm trees and the impressive Lonja, once Palma's fish market and now a home to a gallery with sporadic expositions. In the interior is modern and intimate.

Altought in mi humble opinion Casa Fernando clearly beats in quality this restaurant, it is worth a visit too. Good seafood and fresh fish and better desserts. This is a good place to try “pescado a la sal” (fish baked in rock salt), or to have a langust or lobster "Caldereta" (lobster, almond and tomato soup among other spicies).

A good option if you do not want to go leave the centre but want to have some good spanish-style-fish.
