The Puerto Portals marina is being during these days home to the 11th Breitling Regatta with well known people as the King Juan Carlos I and his son the prince Felipe de Borbon participating.
Puerto Portals is well known to be the place for yacht people and a marine centre during the summer, as well as home to many events all around this season.
The main novelty for 2005 year is that this time the regatta means a score test for the Mediterranean Circuit of Transpac 42 Class. The main characteristic of this class is that all of its boats will sail in real time, without ratings.
It is difficult to point out the favourite boats, as all of them are new and their crews more than excellent: we can find there world champions, Olympic medals and the winner of the America´s Cup. "Caixa Galicia", "Bribón" (skipped by the Spain's King Juan Carlos I) , "Aifos", "Balearia", "Lexus" and "Siemens" are the Spanish unities that will fight against foreign boats as "Cristabella", "Pisco Sour" "Atalanti XV" or "Bambakou".
So if you are around Puerto Portals or plan to be there during this weekend, do be surprised to find it more than crowd. Many of the restaurants around are more than fully booked and some of them are simply do not allowing people to book.
