Pacha Mallorca To No Longer Be Pacha

Pacha Mallorca, the well know disco at the Paseo Maritimo in Palma de Mallorca, is no longer allowed by the Pacha brand to use their name and therefore it should be changing soon.

Known before (and for many years) as Luna, the disco at the Paseo Maritimo changed its name some years ago to Pacha Mallorca, after a 30000 Euro agreement with the worldwide known brand Pacha.

The main Pacha brand, not happy with the way the disco at the Paseo Maritimo was managed, has decided to no longer renew the contract they had with the local owners and therefore and from this 1st January 2006 they are no longer authorized to use their name.

Now, and while they name Pacha Mallorca is still in use by them, nobody knows by sure which will be the new name.

As a side note, this unknown new name will be only lasting for a few years, as the rental contract the owners have with the Obispado de Mallorca is to be finished and not renewed by 2008, when due to an agreement with the Mallorca Government and the Obispado, the area will be given to firsts to be used as a public area and no longer used for night entertainment purposes. So by 2008, the mythic disco at Palma's Paseo Marítimo will be closing its doors.

Will now any entrepreneur use that opportunity to open a new Pacha Mallorca anywhere else?
