Moving around in Mallorca is, unfortunately, not easy as it should, at least by bus or train. However, this an small island fully of affordable and professional taxis.

If you are likely to hire a car and try your skills driving by the wrong side, then keep reading, you can not miss our recommendations.

If you haven't booked a shuttle bus with your travel agency, taxi driver swill be the first thing you'll know about Mallorca. As soon as you land at the Son San Joan Airport.

You can pick up a taxi at arrivals, usually there's no other problem than queueing for a few minutes. That's you first option, and will work OK if you do not have any special requirements. Remember that no everyone speaks English but.

However, if you want to make sure someone will be waiting for you, or if you need any special service such as baby chairs (no, spanish taxi drivers do not usually carry them on), then you're better booking in advance. As a general rule, they'll be waiting you at arrivals with your name displayed.

After dealing with many companies and taxis doing private transfers, our first recommendation will to go for Taxi PMI. They were the first ones to introduce airport transfers in Mallorca and have been doing it for years. Taxi PMI features a wide range of cars and will be happy to carry you bikes, baby strolls, golf clubs or whatever you need them to carry. Also, they're almost the only ones to have a 7 seats taxi and accept payments by cash, credit card or banks transfer. Additionally, the have euro taxis available, adapted for people with disabilities, and speak English and German among other languages. And yes, they're really friendly.

Bookings with Taxi PMI can be done at their website www.taxipmi.com, where you can find as well as their fares. They're also happy to do group transfers, do not mind asking.

Taxi Mallorca Holidays is a new Taxi company located in Palma with a fleet of 10 vehicles, including Eurotaxis and Wagons.

Finally, if you're specially worried about language, then it's time to go for Adrian. He says to be the only English taxi driver in Palma de Mallorca. We haven't check that, there are too many, but you will be at least sure that the one picking you up will have no language barriers. At all. More information on his services can be found at http://www.majorcabdriver.com/.
