One of the first things that come in mind when planning you holidays in Mallorca is how to arrive to your hotel, apartment of place of residence in Mallorca from the airport.
Moving around Palma de Mallorca streets and ways for the first can be tricky and more those who are not experienced travellers. Public transport in Mallorca (Majorca) doesn’t work the way it should, or not at least when we talk about Mallorca (Majorca) airport transfers.
First tip: forget it, the airport bus is not a solution, an airport train does not even exist.
If you do not have any special requirements I will recommend to simply pick up a taxi. The arrivals area at the Mallorca airport is usually plenty of them. Actually, it shouldn’t take more than 5-10 minutes to pick up one and a taxi in to Palma, the capital, will cost only 15 Euro.
Additionally, you can also rent a car for the whole duration of your holidays at any of many places available at the Airport itself, such as Avis or Record Rent a Car .
As soon as you are out of the Mallorca airport terminal you will see a queue of people waiting for one. Do not worry, is faster than you think. Wait your time and pick up you taxi there.
Booking your Mallorca (Majorca) airport transfer is highly recommended if you carrying lots of bags and need a really big one (so you do not have to pay for 2), if you are worried about them not having a baby seat for your children, or if you simply like to have someone waiting for you.
Many companies in the island offer transfer services from the airport with experienced drivers and speaking many languages such as English, German or Swedish. Some of them can be booked by the internet and paid on arrival by credit card or cash.
Mallorca (Majorca) airport transfers are available from just a few bucks more than a normal taxi, but this will really depend on how special is the service you are looking for.
MCA Majorca Airport Transfers
offers transfers from Palma de Mallorca airport, to any resort in Mallorca, with capacities ranging from 4 to 55 passengers
Majorca Airport Transfers is an English speaking company with their office at the Palma de Majorca airport and specially dedicated to these transfers. I had some small deals with them and was greatly surprised by their amazing speed on replying my emails.
I have also worked a few times with Mallorca (Majorca) Taxi and have to say that, while they are not that quick with emails, they have good taxis and friendly English speaking drivers. Also, they offer euro taxi transfers for disabled (wheelchair) people.
Another company offering airport transfers is Balearics Transfer, which offers personalised transfer services in Mallorca airport.
When booking your airport transfers you should advise them you approximate arrival time and flight number, so they can wait you at the arrivals area.
You must remember to request any special extra such as baby seats in advance, as they won’t be able to quickly arrange that there.
Well, not really many specialized, but there are companies offering such services.
MCA Majorca Airport Transfers as said offers transfers to any resort and has capacity to up to 55 passengers, which should be enough don't you think?
The most competitive one I found on the last years, in terms of price is Transunion. They offer transfers at good and competitive rates, but their service (and this is an update based on my own experience) is somewhat poor. To book, better to send them a fax, and leave every detail writte and more than clear. Details following:
Transunion
