San Augustin - Majorca

San Augustin (Majorca) is a residential area close located to Palma de Mallorca, the capital. Only 7 kilometres south west from the historical centre, San Augustin is the perfect spot for those looking for villas or properties in Majorca as their second residence.

San Augustin is also known as San Agustin. In fact, the last is its real name but many foreign (basically british) knows this place by the first, as it more likely the way they translate it.

The nearest beach to San Augustin is Cala Mayor, just about kilometre from there, down the Nixe Palace Hotel. The beach is sandy and frequented by many locals as it can be easily reached from Palma by taking bus number 3 Pont d'Inca - Illetas) which also goes to San Augustin. Unfortunately, the San Augustin area itself does not have its own beach, but many bars with terraces set up on the rocks, facing to the Mediterranean Sea, serving quality food and drinks.

Down the area, the Cala Nova Nautical Club offers, among others, sailing classes for the youngest of the family as well as kite surfing lessons. The Cala Nova Club is quite small, but the school is really famous for its long teaching tratidion. It also has its won restaurants which is worth a visit.

The area is composed mainly by residential buildings, made of small apartments, with no restrictions in size or high, most of them with pool and good views to the sea. These are home to many first time buyers looking for sea view properties not far away from Palma, being most of them British that like to spend their retirement in Majorca, or just a weeks a year when on holidays. Flights are now that cheap that is easy to spend half living in Mallorca.

Those just on holidays have a few hotels here in San Agustin, like the Gran Uto Palace, a 4 stars hotel by the sea whith affordable fares.

San Augustin is a quiet area, mainly residential, worth to live in and definately perfect if you want to stay or live in Mallorca (Majorca) in quiet and affordable area but not far from the center.
