Spain and Mallorca street markets are known all around the world, but this has also made to find real markets even difficult to find.
While really well known (you have most probably heard about), Palma de Mallorca market is the first you should avoid to visit. You are most probably near this one and it is easy for you the visit, but it does not worth the time.
Visiting Spain markets is a way to find local products and people, but Palma's one is not the place. Anyway, for your information, it takes places every Saturday morning in the Avenidas, the main street in the centre.
The tourist info office or your reception desk can provide you with a list of every market for every day. But until we find better ones (doubt it), the following are our tips:
Wednesday: Sineu
Although it used to be plenty of animals on its origins, right now the Sineu Market is more than less a clothes market. Go early in the morning and after having a look eat at "Sa Plaça", cheap and good.
Sunday: Santa Maria
One of the best in Mallorca. The tip is to go from 10:00 to 13:00, not later (or expect to find nothing). There is nearly everything here. To end, go to the village's main road, to any of the bars and have a drink and a tapa after doing something else.
Should you skip our advice and be interested in other markets, please find following a daily list of Mallorca weekly markets:
Caimari, Calvià, Lloret, Lluc, Manacor & Montuiri.
Alcúdia, El Arenal, Artà, Campanet, Can Picafort - Llubí, Lluc, Porreres & Sta. Margalida.
