Mallorca offers wondefull and fascinating diving sites for both the beginner and the experienced. There are a lot of of diving clubs as well as centers all around the island that provides scuba diving lover with all the necessary equipments and instructions.
The spectacular underwater scenary is plenty of marine flora and faune with lots of fish, coral, starfish, sea urchins, sponges and octopus. Depending on the area you could also find some beatiful reefs and wrecks along the sea coast.
The sea temperature in this area of the Mediterranean is around 26º Celsius is August and around 14º Celsius in January. As closer as the summer as warm the weather is. However, those diving in the north will notice it slightly colder. To have an idea, just think that a 3mm full length wetsuit its enough during the summer and you during the rest of the year you will be most probalby ok with a semidry one.
The best season is from May to October, but please keep in mind that the months in the middle are also those when more tourist come to the island so if you are not in one the last unesploited areas of Mallorca then you will share your experience with a bunch of of them and another of sailors boats.
There are many scuba diving centers where you can take the PADI, rent a trainer to join you in case you are on your own. The are great and qualified professionals and will take care of your safethy. Centers also offer insurances and scuba diving gear.
If you are an unexperienced but want to give scuba dive a try, best join a beginers course on a school to some calas, or an organized dive to greater depths. Talk to your instructor and let him point you at best.
